 EGHC is pleased to announce the "Grinner Games" ahead of Paris 2024....

Join Us for the Grinner Games: A Celebration of Olympic Spirit and Hockey Excellence!

As the excitement of the Olympic Games approaches, we're thrilled to invite teams from across the country to participate in our GB Olympic Hockey Festival, aptly named the "Grinner Games".  This festival promises to be an unforgettable event, celebrating athleticism, camaraderie, and the spirit of sportsmanship.


Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, 14th July
  • Time: 9am to 4pm
  • Location: East Grinstead Sports Club, Saint Hill Rd, St. Hill Green, East Grinstead RH19 4JU

Festival Highlights:
  • Opening Ceremony:
    We'll kick off the day with an inspiring opening ceremony featuring team introductions, national anthems, and motivational speeches to energize all participants.
  • Skills Clinics:
    Hone your techniques and strategies with skill-building clinics led by experienced coaches.
  • Tournaments:
    Engage in thrilling mini-tournaments or round-robin matches, with teams competing in various age categories and skill levels.
  • Olympic Event:
    Experience the excitement of our specially designed Olympic course, created by our first team coach. Teams of 8 players will navigate a series of skill-testing obstacles.
  • Team Ages:
    • Under 10
    • Under 14
    • Under 18
    • Adults 
    • Mixed teams
  • Point System:
    • 1st place: 5 points
    • 2nd place: 3 points
    • 3rd place: 1 point
    • Extra 5 points for the best GB outfit

  • Youth Development:
    Dedicated activities for young players, including mini-games, fun drills, and interactive sessions to introduce them to the sport.
  • Vendor Village:
    Explore stalls selling field hockey equipment, apparel, merchandise, and delicious food and refreshments.
  • Entertainment:
    Enjoy live music, DJs, and halftime shows to keep the energy high and the atmosphere lively.
  • Awards Ceremony:
    Conclude the day by recognizing outstanding players, teams, and coaches in a celebratory awards ceremony.
  • Community Engagement:
    Partner with local organizations and charities to promote community involvement through field hockey activities and fundraisers.
  • Fan Engagement:
    Join in on interactive contests, giveaways, and meet-and-greet opportunities with players and coaches.
  • Support a Great Cause:
    This year, we're raising funds to establish the first Grinner Flyerz League in South England, promoting inclusive hockey for disabled and non-disabled players of all ages and abilities. Your participation supports this fantastic initiative, showcasing your commitment to inclusivity and community development.
